Warmth flooded her whole being. A sense of peace, of a longing finally sated washed over her like cool spring water running over her palm. The sudden euphoria was dizzying, almost unbearably so that she had half the mind to beg for the feeling to stop. The other half, however, was suspended in the blissful haze and lost its ability to put two coherent words together. How could it that such a simple action could render a stoic warrior such as her into a helpless maiden she denied herself to be so many times before?
She didn’t know. He wouldn’t tell. And most likely, she’ll never get a straight answer from anyone she could care to question.
Just as she was about to fully give in, he pulled back. Reality hit her as that feeling faded as the distance grew between them. She blinked, looking at him once before focusing her sights on something to the left of her. He said nothing, and neither would she grace him with a single utterance of a word he might be longing to hear.
It was him who first broke the silence between them. “So... How was it?”
She had to take a moment to gather her scattered thoughts. Finally, after some contemplation, she looked at the man and answered, “... It was strange.”
Red stained her cheeks, even as parts of her screamed to punch that cheeky smirk off his youthful face, as she was tempted to do. But now, she wasn’t so sure she wanted to break this feeling of contentment between them. “But it wasn’t at all... unpleasant.” She added almost as an afterthought.
Quite obvious from his mirthful chuckle, he was expecting that sort of answer from her.
Unbidden, he brushed strands of ebony locks away from her face with a hand. The other hand gently took hold of her chin and tilted her head towards him. In that moment, time seemed to stop as green gazed upon blue. It was like the earth and sky, two beings that would forever be different, and yet laid side by side with each other since time immemorial. And they would remain that way forever even when Ragnarok has come to pass.
The silence between them grew. Belatedly, she realized he was waiting for more answers from her.
“I don’t...” She was surprised she couldn’t string a simple statement to utter. She exhaled and tried once again, “I don’t understand what’s so wonderful about it though. Like what everyone else claims.”
Laughter escaped his lips, and that all-too knowing smirk spread across that pale face once more. “Then let me clarify it again for you.”
And he bent down to kiss her for the second time.
End Entry.
